SANDING AND POLISHING
There is no clear coat on standard Kinon material. The pattern in Kinon runs through the material and is
reparable with simple sanding and polishing unlike regular laminates and lacquer finishes.
In order to remove any deep surface scratches, cigarette burns, or after applying any edging material you will
need to sand and polish to achieve a high gloss finish. In the event that the scratch goes through the entire depth
of the material to the substrate, please contact your Klnon representative. For any lighter surface scratches,
you may just need polishing alone.
SANDING
Sand with a Random Orbital Sander. First with 1000 grit, then with 1200 grit.
POLISHING
We recommend the use of two polishing compounds with a circular polisher in tile following order: ‘Perfect-It’ 3000, then 3M Machine Glaze.
Always use separate polishing bonnets with each compound.
