Applying with Polymer Tile Adhesive

When adhering to sheetrock or cement backer in your wet or dry areas, adhere with mastic polymer adhesive. Simply load your notched trowel with a palette knife, apply an even layer to the sheetrock or cement board, then press your Kinon Ultra Cast into the adhesive. Use a colored silicone and or combine architectural details with colored silicone at your joints.

Dry Kinon application on Drywall/sheetrock
  1. Apply your drywall as you would in any standard drywall application. Follow manufacturer guidelines. 
  2. Apply a latex primer coat to your drywall prior to applying adhesive.
  3. Once the latex is dry now you are ready to adhere your Kinon with mastic polymer adhesive.
  4. Make sure your Kinon is flat cut it to its desired shapes and panel dimensions with laminate grade saw blades and router bits for desired joint design. Apply metal schluters as needed or use whichever termination detail you desire.
  5. If you are applying silicone at the joints make sure you wait 4 to 5 days after adhering with the mastic adhesive as the adhesive needs to breadth to dry and cure.

Installations without grout should not be installed in wet places.

Wet Kinon application on Backer Board

  2. Make sure your Kinon is flat cut it to its desired shapes and panel dimensions with laminate grade saw blades and router bits for desired joint design. Apply metal schluters as needed or use whichever termination detail you desire.
  3. Apply silicone at the joints make sure you wait 4 to 5 days after adhering with the mastic adhesive as the adhesive needs to breath to dry and cure.
